Birch Ridge Kennel is a quality gun dog breeding and training facility specializing in fully trained English Setters. We breed Setters that are genetically, mentally and physically sound.  We strive to produce good looking hunting dogs that love to hunt. Our fully trained dogs possess style, stamina and excellent bird finding ability. Our breeds come from the bloodlines of Sam L's, six time championship winner in the 1940's and early 1950's, Pleasant Valley, also six time champion winner in the 1970's and early 1980's as well as Long Gone, the first to win seven cover dog championships and back to back winner of the New England Open Grouse Championship. We are located in Livingston Manor, NY. Our training facility is well equipped, set on 100 plus acres surrounded by natural resources that provide an ideal environment for the development of  hunting dogs.The premises are attended continuously and cleaned a minimum of 3 times per day. Each dog is worked out daily while enjoying its surroundings as it learns new skills. We use live birds and train to retrieve in all terrain.

Although we encourage our puppies, we will train your dog  from any stage of discipline. We invite owner participation and will work with you to achieve desired results.

Here at Birch Ridge Kennel, our aim is to train a well behaved dog that loves his boss, the gun and to hunt birds.

We learn each dogs unique abilities, strengths and weaknesses. We then develop a training program suitable  to achieve favorable results.

Our dogs are trained for close to medium range. They are steady to wing and will retrieve to hand.
